The project grows out of a series of community dinners: gatherings of friends invited to share food. From the remains of these encounters, an archive takes shape: a series of books composed of organic leftovers, traces of ingredients, hospital reports, fig leaves, supermarket receipts, and radiographs printed on tablecloth fabric. Together, these materials form the archive of a body shaped by food, community, and care; a body entangled with the human and non-human actors that surround it.The gloves used to handle the books are brought by the friends who take part in the dinners. As acts of friendship, they extend the work’s structure of care, carrying the trace of gestures offered from one body to another. In this way, the act of touching becomes both a gesture of care and an interrupted encounter.
